ABOUT THE CLIENT
Move Free was founded by professional mountain-ultra-trail runner Patrick Caron, and the company is here to sell fun hats, inspire adventure, and give back to the planet. Specifically, Move Free understands that the right attitude is just as important as the right gear. As such, Patrick’s goal is to connect his products with people who are as passionate about environmental stewardship and activism as they are about comfort and style. When you buy Move Free, you’re celebrating nature and agreeing to help protect the outdoor spaces we love for generations to come. A percentage of the proceeds from every purchase goes to a collection of organizations that are taking significant steps to help extend the preservation of our planet. THE PROJECT SKINNY
Andercat met with Patrick in late 2018 to discuss his goals. At this time, all that existed was the company name. So we got to work. We established Move Free’s brand messaging, designed its logo, assembled its brand guidelines, delivered a social media kit, and finally, designed it first product, the Summit Cap. In spring 2019, Move Free launched – vivid, wild, and unapologetic. Partnered with Sapwood Design, Co. and in collaboration with a US-based manufacturer, we collectively created a brand that features an enduring sense of play – from form to function to purpose it is eye-catching, quality-based, and sustainably-focused. Each Move Free hat is 100% handmade in California and is ultralight and antimicrobial, offers UPF50+ sun protection, and looks dope. We couldn’t be happier how this project and partnership was born and grew, and whether you choose to adventure on or off the trails, we hope a Move Free hat will become your go-to piece of headwear too.
Since launch, Move Free has been featured in Runner’s World as a ‘recommended product,’ as well as numerous other publications. Patrick’s ambassador program also received over 75 applications, and this is only the start.
