B.A.S.E. XCamp – Branding and Website Design

ABOUT THE CLIENT
B.A.S.E. XCamp is summer trail running camp in Stratham, NH. It is designed to physically and mentally prepare high school athletes entering grades 9 through 12 for their upcoming cross country seasons. Each day campers meet at Stratham Hill Park to experience safe and fun trail running coached by experienced adult runners. Campers also hear from one guest speaker per session, discussing such running-related topics as race strategy, hill running technique, injury prevention, nutrition, career trajectory within the industry, and more.
THE PROJECT SKINNY
Andercat helped B.A.S.E. XCamp achieve its logo design and website design, as well as a created launch plan for public activation. The logo features a retro fade in traditional lush New England greens and yellows, with a large ‘XC’ and bisecting arrow as its focal point. This celebrates one of two well-known abbreviations for ‘cross country’ as a sport, and helps bring brand awareness to the camp’s target audience. The website complements this approach by adding a bit of grit with its darker hues on the homepage – a staple of a strong running attitude – balanced by slightly brighter interior pages and lots of overall white, working in harmony to deliver approachability. Ultimately we created this new website to be clean, concise, professional, and approachable. Throughout this project, our primary goal was to make sure that B.A.S.E. XCamp’s audience could easily learn about camp, access information they’d need, contact the directors, and of course – register to participate. Each of these actions is now achieved, and B.A.S.E. XCamp can be off to the races (pun!).
